All members of the Friends of the Davie Library are welcome to attend our board meetings and share input with our board. We would love input from our members. Please mark your calendars and join us on Tuesday, December 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the library for our next meeting!
You may have seen that our large book sale is not happening this fall. However, we have added an ongoing book sale so you can shop anytime the library is open! Titles will rotate and be restocked continually, so check it out often. Your purchase supports the Friends of the Library group and the work we do for the library and community!
As our president steps down to explore new ventures, we know everyone will join us in wishing her all the best! Merit worked tirelessly for the past several years to lead the FoL and we can’t say enough how much we appreciate her efforts. A sincere thank you, Merit! As the group moves forward, you will be missed!

Meet Wayne and Claudia Adams
Wayne is the author of a number of works including The Universe Wept. Claudia will speak to us about her booklet entitled Saving My Sister.
Wayne Adams of Biscoe, NC has written a number of works in a variety of genres from Sci-Fi to children’s books. His creativity is reflected in the book he will discuss at the Davie County, NC AuthorTalk on Saturday, June 4, 2016 10 am – 12:30 pm.
From his website:
American astronomers discover an asteroid made entirely of gold. One of the scientists leaks the story to a reporter. U.S. President Margaret Mann wants NASA to mine the asteroid as a means of paying off the national debt. England and France remind the president of the Space Treaties of 1968 and 1975, which forbid any one nation from benefiting from a heavenly body that is considered valuable. At the same time, North Korea suddenly develops an interest in reunification talks with South Korea and the United States.
Wayne is a U.S. Army veteran whose wife Claudia Adams, will also speak Saturday about her booklet highlighting how we can help victims of domestic abuse, “Saving My Sister”.
Claudia Adams’ booklet details the dramatic events of her life and the peace she found. The booklet includes steps that those who are experiencing domestic abuse can take to escape.
For information about both authors’ materials you can email them at email@example.com or give them a call at 910-428-9779.
Wayne’s book listing is available at his website along with information on how to purchase them online if you can’t make it to our author’s event this weekend.
The Friends of Davie County Public Library hopes to see you Saturday.

James Lynn Durham was born and raised in rural North Carolina. He became fascinated with horses at a young age. They became a lifelong passion. He has raised and trained several horses and competed with them in rodeo and other events.
Meet Author Nicholas Sailer
This award-winning writer/filmmaker is the author of A Story Each Day, a collection of 365 short stories, written one each day for an entire year.
This young author and artist has a definitive perspective on the role of stories in our lives and you will want to hear more about why he decided to write a story each day!
A story isn’t just a nice collection of pretend people and made up places. A story isn’t just a retelling of an old adventure. A story isn’t just a fun thing to tell around a campfire, or a relaxing thing to read before you go to bed at night. A story is a dangerous and provoking path, which leads us always to see truth more vividly.~ Nicholas Sailer, from his website
Read more from him and pick up an e-copy of his book at his website. Visit with him on Saturday June 4, 2016 at Davie County Library, 371 N. Main St., Mocksville NC 27028 from 10 am -12:30 pm.
Meet the Author of The Doe Family Finds A Deer
Tammera Lindsay (formerly Tammera Donovan) is an author, artist, animal wildlife rehabilitator, and a nature photographer. Tammera’s photographs illustrate this story of life in rural North Carolina.
You can hear more from Tammera about her story of wildlife rehab at Davie County Library on Saturday June 4, when the Friends of Davie County Public Library presents AuthorTalk.

She is the author of an exciting fantasy series set in NC. Calum Ranson is searching for his cousin who may have been abducted by the dark Hobayeth Clan!

Hear from Featured Authors on Saturday, June 4, 2016
At the Mockville, NC Library, 371 N. Main Street, Mocksville NC 27028. Refreshments from 10-10:30 am and then Author Mark Eley will kick off our AuthorTalk!
Mark Eley’s pen name is M.H. Healy. He tells us he chose his pen name because, quite simply, everyone mistakes his last name “Eley” for “Healy” anyway! So M.H. Healy has been his unintentional alias for a while.
He will bring antique weaponry to show us and tell us about life with his family in Clemmons, as well as discussing the first in his series of AF novels about Kwame Obasanjo, an African teen from Senegal who raised by Jesuits but thrown into slavery by a vicious captain. His only escape, joining the pirates who raid his plantation!
The book from the series, Pirate Straits, is Oath of Blood and is available at Amazon, and from the Publisher, Library Tales. If you enjoy drama, adventure and action (who doesn’t) then you should check out, Oath of Blood.
Refreshments served at 10 am and then Mark will speak at 10:30 am this Saturday.
The AuthorTalk Series is sponsored by the Friends of Davie County Public Library. We hope to visit with you and enjoy hearing from a terrific variety of talented North Carolina authors.
